Patients suffer at 'Lal ded hospital' | KNO

The abysmal condition of hospitals in the Valley came to the fore once again as Lal Ded Hospital in Srinagar have no proper space for patients who are forced to share one bed for two patients.

Scores of patients said that the woes of patients are unheard; a single bed in the ward is being shared by at least two patients due to shortage. One of the patient said that the irony is that those who has contacts get the beds, while common people suffer. “People like me who don’t know anyone have to share bed with other patients. There are no bed sheets also available”, he said. A group of attendants said that the washrooms are also in very poor and dirty condition. “Bathrooms are stinking.

The wards are far away from the day care ward. These bathrooms are common for both patients and attendants”, they said. They also said that the medical staff is also not enough to attend the patients. However it is being observed that the maternity hospital witnesses huge influx of patients across Valley. Meanwhile when contact officials at Lal Ded hospital; no one was available for comment.
